European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) was created to help build a new post-Cold War era in Central and Eastern Europe. Since then, it has played a historic role and gained unique experience in promoting change in the region and beyond, investing more than 190 billion euros in more than 7,000 projects. The EBRD is committed to further progress towards “a market-oriented economy and the development of private and enterprise initiative”. This has been its guiding principle since its creation in the early 1990s and, despite new challenges and the EBRD welcoming new countries into the world, it will remain its mission in the years to come.
